More than 80 electric and natural gas utility company human resource, operating and community affairs executive and their partners met in Newark, NJ this summer for a one-day Utility Workforce Planning Network meeting, Solutions for an Aging Workforce. Hosted by PSEG and UBEC, the senior managers representing public, co-op and investor-owned utilities from across the country addressed industry workforce development issues related to the aging utility and the need to recruit and develop skilled and craft labor.
The meeting sessions included a review of Network progress to date and presentations on industry workforce development solutions. Participants provide input on key Network program and next steps during breakout discussions to review industry solutions to workforce issues.
